How to set up a Sacred Music Festival
  1. Prior to Family Week, at least four months, meet with your community Ministerial Alliance and/or local churches (schools may want to participate, also).
  2. Find a location for the event. Consider holding the music festival at a community or school auditorium so that all churches involved and all people attending feel comfortable in a neutral location.
  3. Invite each church to prepare and perform a five-minute musical number about family for the Music Festival.
  4. Name the Festival after a local "family" hero.
  5. Spotlight the hero in the Music Festival paper program or at the opening of the Music Festival.
  6. No proselyting permitted during the program, before or after. (This is critical because it will take from the unity and trust of all involved churches and their commonality of cause for the family)
  7. The Music Festival could be used to serve and strengthen needy community families (i.e. Food Pantry, Community Service League). Charge one canned food item or $1.00 person/$5.00 family Festival entrance fee with total proceeds donated to organizations serving families in need.
  8. Kick Family Week off on Sunday evening with the Music Festival. This is an excellent way for families, churches, and schools to unite in harmony, pay tribute to all families, and serve others.
